Mason, Mommy, and Movies!

Parker has been pretty busy lately so it leaves Mason and I on our own most nights. One night I decided to make it special and have our first little mother and son date. I went to redbox and rented a movie for Mason which ended up being Elmo in Grouchland. It was pretty cute because it was about Elmo and finding his stolen blanket (which is his best friend). Mason has one of those blankets. It is so gross because he carries it all over the place. He plays with it outside, then sleeps with it, then eats with it on his lap. Ya, gross I know. I literally wash it every load of laundry I do. Besides the point, we have an extra mattress that was still out in the living room from when my Mom came to visit last week. I pulled it in front of the t.v. grabbed a bunch of pillows and blankets, popped popcorn, got us each drinks, and let Mason stay up late with Mom. He thought it was so fun. He ended up wanting to play the whole time, but he still enjoyed the movie. It was a fun night of just me and Mason and I am looking forward to having another sometime soon. I had to take pictures because Mason just was loving every minute of it.

Smart Fart Mason

Mason is getting so smart. I just love all the silly things he does. I am just going to share a few of the cute things he does.
1. At Parker's soccer game there was a plane in the sky so it took awhile but I finally got him to realize what I was showing him and now everytime he hears a plane he looks up into the sky and finds it. Sometimes the plane is so far away I don't know how he even heard it and saw it.
2. Mason loves to help me unload the dishes. Its like his favorite time of the day. Probably because I praise him so much for helping me because I hate the dishes.
3. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. He loves this show and has learned all the little sayings like, "Oh Toodles" and "Mischa Mouscha Mickey Mouse". I cant wait to take him to Disneyland (whenver that day comes) for him to see Mickey.
4. Mason's love for his friends and family. When I drive out to my sisters Mason is always saying Taycee Tali. He loves to play with his cousins. Mason is so good at seeing when Mom and Dad need a hug, he comes up and lifts his arms up and says "hug, hug!" Mason is always listening for his buddy who lives upstairs. The other day Mason was throwing dirt on him and Austin but then he would go over to Austin and make sure to brush it off of him.
5. I am pretty sure Mason is going to be a good athlete. He already has a way good throw. People all the time are telling us what a good arm he has. Even after Parker's soccer games he runs out and practices with his ball and the goal. He loves playing catch with me and just last week he caught his first ball!

Thats pretty much the latest with Mason. Parker is busy as ever going to work at 5 am then to school at 4 then soccer at 6. What a crazy life, for four days. Once the weekend hits its relaxation!Parker is lucky to have a 3 day weekend from everything. So although I dont see him much during the week it gets made up on the weekend. Parkers soccer team has done pretty well. They have won two games, tied one, and lost one. Parker has been a good asset to the team. He has started every game and practically plays the whole time. As for me its just about the same, working at Alpine and filling in other jobs here and there. Yes, I am boring. But me and Mason have fun together!
p.s. the title is really true. Mason farts and then he goes around to tell everyone he did!

Birthday Wishes became Birthday Stitches

This weekend was pretty hectic. On Friday Mason was in our house while I was working and long story short he was pressing all sorts of buttons on the remote and the static noise came on so loud that I started to walk back to the house. When I walked in Mason gave me the remote and as I started walking to the tv we stepped in front of me and tripped over my feet. He fell into the dining room chair and I could tell it hurt him because it was a very loud hit to the head. His head was down towards the ground and I was reassuring him he was ok. When i bent down to pick him up I turned him around to face me and then the blood went rushing. I had blood all over me and on the floor. Luckily my boss was home and I ran upstairs to the main offices and asked him to cover the office for a minute. I ran into the bedroom where Parker was and cleaned him up and then we realized he needed to get stitches. My boss was so nice and finished my shift while we took him to the ER. He was as happy as could be in the waiting room but then we had to put him in a "papoose" which strapped him down so he couldn't move. Parker watched the Dr. give him a shot and I couldn't stand to look. Then I hear Mason yell, "Mommy!" and thats when I was like, ok Katie you have to be strong for your son, and I went over and stood right by him so he could see me while they stitched him up. Overall he was a very good boy and he wasn't even screaming because of the pain, it was because he was being held down. I love Mason so much and am so proud of him. He is so strong, smart, and very loveable. I know he is always going to be looking out for his Mommy, so I wanted to give him a fun birthday party. Saturday was his party we went to the zoo, and both his grandmas went in together to get him a wagon. He loves it and could play with it all day. We had fun at the zoo with Mason's cousins and with Parker's and my family. After we had a picnic with that included more of Mason's family and friends. Another accident to add to his birthday was he got a toy truck and he thinks you ride it like his other one, but really its just for play. Well he was sitting and trying to ride on it at the park and it toppled forward on the sidewalk so then he added the scrape across his forhead! What a boy, tomorrow when he gets his stitches off I am probably going to be reported to Child Services! Anyways we had a fun weekend and I cant believe my little boy is two! Its gone by so fast, but I wouldn't trade anything. Mason is everything to me and brings the biggest joy to my life. We love you Mason and thanks to everyone for coming and for the gifts. The party wouldn't be the same without you guys!
So the first pictures are just funny because we put Mason down to bed and he found the diaper rash cream and got it all over him. He was gresed up like a pig! The last pictures are what Mason looks like right now. FYI- I do not beat up my kid!

Sleepy Head

This kid is the funniest little guy! He has been pretty bad at taking naps now that he is older, if he does take a nap its a good day! For the most part he doesn't and by time 6:00 rolls around he is so tired. In fact this was just a last minute dinner of pizza which is Masons favorite. Parker was not home yet and so it was kinda a dinner all on everyone own time. I was watching some t.v. while Mason was eating and Parker called to tell me we were leaving right when he got home and to be ready when he got there. So I yelled "Mason lets get your shoes we got to go see daddy!" Usually at that time he is out of his seat and running towards the door. I turn to see why he wasn't coming and then I found this cute stud.

This was how he was first found, and then he started doing the head nod thing (you know when someone is falling asleep in church and you can see them catching themselves dosing off). He was so tired he couldn't hold it up anymore. I have the funniest video, but yet i still don't get how to get it on my actual computer.
Mason is showing us his body parts.

Last week Parker's sister Whitni got married to Jason in the Salt Lake Temple. She was such a beautiful bride but honestly I took like no pictures that day besides these few. The day was perfect and we are so glad that Jason is apart of the family (and i am not the only in-law now!)

Sweet Summertime!

This summer has been busy just like every summer! I have a lot of updates in one post so here we go! This first post is just outside our apartment playing in the sprinklers. At our old place we use to have a pool, but now we have to improvise and this is all we got. But the kids love it! Mason good buddy Austin lives upstairs and they love to play with eachother. They were so much fun to watch in the sprinkler. The toy is that you drop a ball down the side and it loops down to the bottom and then shoots out the top. It is suppose to shoot up 6 ft in the air but the water pressure here at alpine storage is not the best. Whenever someone flushes the toilet the water goes lower too!

Just being boys!

This next picture I honestly cant remember what he ate, but he was just so darn cute I had to whip out the camera!
In July was American Fork Steel Days so we went to the little carnival they had there. We bought enough tickets for Mason to ride 2 rides. We thought he would just ride the Merry Go Round, but he hated it! It was so funny because Parker had to end up getting on the horse with him. We couldn't find a ride that he could do so we were about to give a little kid our leftover tickets that we thought were waste, but then we saw this boat ride. Mason loved it! He was so cute on it! I think he liked the fact that he had a steering wheel and he was actually driving it. He is such an independant little boy!

Daddy having to join the ride. What a nerd!
This weekend we went up to Idaho Falls for Whitney's bridal shower and my friend Liz's wedding. I didn't get any pictures of her wedding but just some over the weekend. Chelsi even flew in from Arizona to suprise Whitni for her shower!
Such a cute picture of Chelsi and little Kooper!
This picture you had to be there. Pretty much Ryker was on his knees and put them in his shoes. Anyways he was rapping away and it was just the funniest thing! The picture is blurry, but I was mostly focusing on recording it. Hopefully sometime I can get the video up. This was also one of those late night things where anything is funny and you cant stop laughing! Don't you love those nights!
We all went swimming at the grandparents hotel. (Dont mind that my mascara is completely running down my face, but heck do you ever really get a good picture swimming?)
All the gals- minus Shannon & Lexi who had to work- We missed her! I am sure my pasty white skin is just popping at you right now! Ha- yes I am in the in-law!
All the guys! Including the soon to be newest to the family Jason!

My two cute boys just playing!
The last thing this month was my neice Kaymbree's baby blessing. Totally forgot the camera there, but Parker and I made a cake the night before for it. I have always wanted to learn how to make and decorate cakes, and actually I am always reading everything about them. So here was my first attempt with fondant. Over all I think it went well, the bottom layer of fondant needed to be thicker and this was not the design I had in my head at all, but we just improvised!

Home made Fondant- pretty good considering my mixer broke on me when I started so I did it all by hand!

P.S. I am posting this because Mason is already asleep. He fell asleep at 6:00 so I am anxious about how early I will be awake in the morning! Kids- EXHAUSTING!

For the Fourth we had to go home to Idaho. We had so much fun I will let the slide speak for itself. Except for bowling... We went with the Davis family bowling, and let me tell you what, I have never once won but I killed it! Parker always beats me and he got second place and I beat him by 49 pins. I got a 133 which is my highest score (I know its not that great, but for me Heck Yes it is!) Parker was such a sore loser like always, but I loved every minute of it! We believe it was all in the funky socks I borrowed from Shannon so she let me keep them for my future games and we printed off the score and put it on their fridge like I was a little kid who got an A on their test! We had so much fun I hope we will do more things with them. Mason also is a pyro because he wanted to light of every firework and would just walk around casually with a sparkler close to his face. Gotta love it!!
Funny Pictures-
So Mason had some really funny moments last week so I had to take some pictures. He learned to crawl out of his crib and open doors the same day! My life will never be the same! So we have been transitioning him to his toddler bed and overall he has done well. We have found him in so many strange positions- half way out of his bed, on the floor, sitting on the floor with his head and back in bed. This is the only picture I got of him though, and its not even the most interesting way, but still cute!
You all know now I work in an office thats attached to my apartment, well they have a playroom with a glass window to see in. Mason doesn't really play in there but he does this!

Update!

Update-
Its been awhile since I posted because we have not had our computer up and running until recently. I also didn't have much to talk about so here is a little update. We did move to American Fork so I could be a manager for some storage units. The job works out great for us because I can work with Mason from home and help pay for some of lifes expences. Parker still hasn't found a job yet besides here and there jobs. He still manages to make some pretty good money though. I got another part time job working for Modbod. They are just weekly roadshows in different Costcos where I get to pick the times I work and get a couple of free shirts here and there and some good discounts. I enjoy it because it does give me something else to do. So far we like it here. Mason is growing up so fast and is becoming a lot better with his speech. Everyday he says new words. He also learned how to crawl out of his crib so we have been challenged with trying to get him asleep in a toddler bed. Overall he has been good so I cant complain. I do find him sometimes in the middle of the night randomy on the floor! Yesterday at church he was the cutest little thing! He has learned to participate in prayers by kneeling, bowing his head, and kind of closing his eyes! I am so impressed with how well behaved he is. During the sacrament hymms he kept wanting to hold his own hymm book and sit in his own chair. While the congregation was singing he was trying to too! I wish I could have recorded it because he was practically trying to serenade to the lady next to us! He was so loud, but too cute to get mad at because he was just trying to do what everyone else was. Anyways thats about it for the update!

Fathers Day-
So this year for fathers day we made a last minute trip to Idaho Falls. We really enjoyed going home for the holiday to see the special fathers in ourl lives. Parker had not been to Idaho since Christmas and still had not seen his families new home. The trip was short but it was still lots of fun. For Fathers day Parker chose to go golfing instead of recieving a present but Mason still got his Daddy his favorite candy and a book called Day out with Daddy to read together. He also was lucky to get a big delicious steak to eat for dinner. Parker is such a good father to Mason. Mason cant get enough of his Daddy, he is so much like him, especially his little smirks and funny faces! We love Daddy so much and are very grateful for him! We love both of our fathers too. Grandpa Anderson is such an amazing person. We look up to him so much. He is the kindest and most considerate person. We know we can always come to him in anytime of need. Dad is the perfect example of a father. He loves his wife so much and treats her like the world. He loves his kids and the gospel and through his daily choices we see a great example of a father. Jace is also a very good father. Although I know he wishes he could do more he is always there for us. Parker and him have a very good relationship and gives excellent advice to his son. He is a very good listener through our tribulations. We know he is always there to talk even if its in the wee hours of the morning!

While Parker was golfing, Aunt Kellie, Grandma, and Mom went to the Greenbelt for Mason's first adventure of feeding the ducks. Wow, those geese were hungry! They were hissing at us and were chasing after us! Mason loved it. He kept trying to pet them, but they were so mean. He was just about the same height as them and I would give him a piece of bread but he would not throw it fast enough. Anyways one goose just went up and bit his hand! Mason didn't care but I ran over and picked him up and wouldn't let him back down in fear they might trample him! He kept crying wanting down, poor little fella, hopefully next time they wont be monsters!

We also experienced Mason's first campfire. It was so fun to see him with so much excitement in his eyes. He is such a cutie! And he takes after his Mommy and absolutely loves smores!!

He is also the most awful kid to try to take pictures of! He is just going and going and will never stop to look at the camera. Hopefully sometime I can get a decent picture of him!
